Wacom Contests Open in the Wacom Community

Journal Entry: Fri Mar 26, 2010, 9:42 AM
For March/April, Wacom has launched two new creative contests in the Wacom Community

In addition to activities planned here at Wacom, we wanted to do something special to celebrate Earth Day this year.  So we've decided to launch a contest that gives you the chance to pull out your tablet, flip on your computer, and create a meaningful and spectacular design around the "Earth Day" theme.

You may not think you have a valuable tip, but if you're working regularly with a Wacom tablet, you probably do.

No doubt, you've played around with the Control Panel... set up some custom settings... even programmed the Radial Dial?  If so, then we want to hear all about your tips and tricks.  And, just think, they'll live in the Community to help other users out.

okay, just a tip for those Bamboo Fun users out there:

do not use YouTube and Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 at the same time. I mean, if you have Windows XP and a Bamboo Fun tablet. You dont want your tablet to suddenly not work for you, and its too much trouble to restart your computer.

Oh, and I tried taping some watercolor paper to the surface to see how it felt and I liked it! You might want to play around with different surfaces to tape on to make the surface just the way you like. :meow:

Yup! You should give it a try! I play around with how far my pen can be from the tablet too. Sometimes I'm able to draw just by pressing the nib against my finger and hovering my finger above the tablet...without ever even touching it! It is super fun! :D

I'm not tablet savvy either, but I do have a little difficulty with mine! It's probably more of a computer problem, but I've overworked my tablet for 2.5 years now anytime the usb gets wiggled a stops being recognized by the computer! I always have to restart the computer. My advice is...make sure you have a lap desk or keep your lappy stable while working so the usb doesn't take a bunch of damage!

Well... always have a backup cable.

And there's this nifty little setting to keep the line width equal as you go.
